Six things
As a way to get back into the January swing of Blogging again Nancy has suggested that I participate in here meme - Share six (6) non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. So, here we go.
1. I like things to match and be in order.
I’m off to work in Lisbon in Portugal next Friday (just for a week, call it a conference) and I was in the market for some new bags and accessories to ship my Macbook Pro and Hard drive around safely. I had already asked for a decent laptop bag for Christmas which I very gratefully received.
However, just the laptop bag wasn’t enough; I ended up putting all the accessories on my wish list and have even bought the Matching Digital DJ case.
So my new matching luggage comprises of:
However, it doesn’t stop there my DJ’ing CD’s are all Inkjet printed using the same font and template and once in the cases they all face twelve o clock, they are also of course in order by Musical Key
I like things to match and be in order.
2. I speak to my Cat
Very regularly I will try and have a conversation with my cat Louis, whether it is me asking him how his night was (when he comes in for breakfast in the morning) or just asking him what he has done all day whilst I have been at work.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t actually think that Louis can understand me and rate what I’m saying but I do like to think on some level that me just looking at the cat and flapping my gums improves our relationship. He may not understand every word, but flapping a purple pouch of Whiskas around and asking him if he is hungry gets a very definite answer.
3. Secret Agent
The more I think about it the more I would really like to be a James bond type. After all, I love gadgets, travelling and a sneaky Gin and Tonic. I think I have been watching too many Bond / Transporter / Bourne films.
4. On the Topic of design
I find it very difficult to converse with people who under value the concept of design or do not appreciate just how much work or effort goes into a particular product. If you have little knowledge around the process then it is quite difficult to explain why something takes so long or why you simply cant have a third column.
I also find it difficult to hear that every man and his uncle can knock a website up or similar but in truth; this is very rarely the case.
5. I love the internet
I have an account on most major networking / services website. I love Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Myspace, Tumblr and Google Products. I also do around 80% of my shopping online.
6. I feel a bit sorry for famous female singers who are just really really messed up. Surely the merits of fame cannot out weigh the costs.
