Live from the office
Things are very hectic as the moment and in the drama of working on four Web projects at work, learning Ableton Live 6 and re-designing this site I somehow have forgotten to post. Doesn’t time fly?
Around three weeks ago now I joined the local “Super Gym†where I spend every lunchtime sweating and grunting like a Gorilla learning how to box.
It really is fantastic and I have noticed some results already however, it does leave some drawbacks. For one I fall asleep pretty much at nine o’clock most nights (I do however just have a nap) and it does cut into how I organise my day. I no longer work through my lunch hour, a real revolution.
I have learnt so much over the past few months about Wordpress and dynamic content that I am itching to put some of it into practice on this site and not for just work related projects. I never thought in a million years I would be using Wordpress at work, its fantastic.
I use a fantastic application called MAMP to turn my laptop into a fully functioning web server, meaning I can do all of my developing offline, a real joy.
As an aside, how do people feel about Flash content at the moment? My new design may or may not include a flash gallery (easier for updating etc) just some feedback would be great. I have also started using Del.icio.us for social book marking which is then pulled into the new design. Is anyone else using anything I could get stuck into? I have applied for a Google API key and for the life of me simply can’t get into using Flickr, I have tried and failed to embrace it.
So to recap, I’ve joined a gym and become responsible for web development at work. Two things that have been a long time coming.

Ive been using ableton since v5, and may i say…it f*****g kicks so much ***! I love it to bits, the amount of control you have is truly phenominal.
Oh cool. What loops do you use?? I don’t really want to use full tracks with it.
I’m also looking to get an M-Audio Trigger Finger and Keyboard. My Pioneer DJM800 acts as a midi controller so I’m just getting to grips with it. I’m going to treat it more like a third deck than anything.
Welcome back! I’ve missed your blogs! Congrats on the new responsibility at work - nothing better than getting recognition for your talent.
As for the gym, I think I’d burst into flames if I set into one these days.
Oh Cheers!! The gym thing is going much better than expected to be honest. I have been a member for just over three weeks and out of those three weeks I’ve only missed two days - both due to work related meetings.
The hardest part really is totally overhauling what I eat, not that I eat badly it’s just a case of going for it 100%.
For instance - No more bread, no more Pasta, no more Potatoes, Crisps, Chocolate or Snacks. Then - 2ltrs of Water a day, 5+ a day of Fruit and Veg. Well, you get the idea.
All I need now is a bit of colour again!
