Five things
After being gently prompted by Siobhan I am to write about five things I haven’t talked about before. He has done a good job and made his answers quite varied. Here is my attempt at being slightly interesting.
1. I Have a Twin.
The relationship between my twin sister and me is a strange one. We have never been overly close despite my mother constantly trying to convince me that we have the “twin†thing, you know, that sense of always knowing what the other one is doing. For me that is simple, I know that she is sat listening to some god awful Ronan Keating Album most of the time…. She however couldn’t possibly know what I’m doing.
The extra twist to this tale is that my sister has Cerebral Palsy – due to a lack of oxygen at birth. You see we were both eight weeks early, she came first and there was complications.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love her, I will always care about what is or simply isn’t happening with her.. I just don’t see us ever being drinking buddies. I can count on one hand the amount of times I saw her last year, sad considering she only lives fifteen minutes away.
2. I used to be into Marital Arts.
When I was younger I took up Karate, and apparently I was pretty good at it. At that age though I used to get fairly bad stage fright (bizarre to think that these days I’ve DJ’ed to thousands) and it was the stage nerves that made me back out. I used to be able to stand with my back flat against the wall and touch each leg on my head, you know, kind of straight up.
When nobody was looking I would practice my moves to early Van Damme movies and the Karate Kid Trilogy. Yes, I was that cool.
3. My love of expensive things (most of which are gifts).
I have a (modern) Denby Tea set that would, in money, buy you a top of the line PS3 when it is launched. I always feel silly drinking a cup of tea out of a £20 mug, but it does hold a fantastic brew.
Some fantastic Jamie Oliver Royal Worcester serving dishes to go along with his Italian Pans make me feel all gooey when i’m making a Sausage Sandwich.
4. (Copying Siobhan on this one) I lost my Virginity at 15.
In all fairness the girl in question was my first love, and if I remember we did end up seeing each other for just over five years. I remember the day her parents found out, her Dad was crying as he came screeching down the road in his car trying to take me down. He got out of the car calling the girlfriend to get in… Needless to say I didn’t see her bedroom much after that.
How has he found out what had been going on? Well, he had read the letters we used to write back and forth to one another, store in a shoe box at the bottom of her wardrobe.
I could never see me and this girl living together, spending the rest of our lives together. It just didn’t cross my mind. When I finally called it a day with her she was angrier rather than upset. She married her very next boyfriend, they are still together I think.
5. Intoxication.
Did you know I’m almost t-total? I can honestly say I have probably been drunk three or four times in 2006. Now don’t get me wrong, I will have the occasional glass of wine with a meal, a cold beer if it has been a hard day at work – but on the whole I don’t drink. This however is not to be confused with me not going out, I simply ask for a cup of tea after a while.
I will not force anyone into taking this meme up, however I would be interested in Elle and Tek’s answers.

Marital arts? Saucy.
Hey fella, Happy new one ‘an all that jazz. I’m still about, I’m still workin’ my *** off to make someone else richer, and I still have my baby ( the porsche ). I’ve got lots to do this year, make or break for the company, and depending on the outcome, possibly a new job. Plus Extention on the house hopefully sometime this year..
Hi mate, good to see you about, ive missed you. Happy New Year! Im sure you will be able to sort your stuff out - I am always here if I can help with anything, anything at all. I’m on a health kick, thats my new thing. Clearly I hate it.
As an aside, it looks like the last Gravatar server has been turned off.
We did a few of these at work with our websites. Nifty read mister neil
I’m up for doing a 5 things. I’ve been thinking about it for days - it’s hard because I talk about almost everything! Eventually I’ll have my 5 things to add.
I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have a twin - I guess the experience differs person to person. Do you look similar?
I enjoyed your 5 things - it’s great to learn more about other people (but that’s just because I’m really nosy!).
